Hey Returning Leos & Welcome New Cubs,

Meeting Today. Here's the basic outline,

-Application forms, contracts, and hours sheets were passed out. We didn't anticipate such a huge turnout, so for anyone who didn't receive their paperwork today, don't worry! You're all still welcome, we'll have more by the next meeting. If you see us around school, feel free to ask and pester us about them.

-Dues are $5 dollars and will be given to Sejal Shah at the same time paperwork is turned in to Edward Hui, or whichever officer is availabe at the moment.

-We've introduced the "Raffle Ticket" Concept. For every 3hrs you volunteer, you receive a ticket that will be put into a drawing for a special myster picrize the end of the semester.

-Sean Ramirez, the founder of Mayfair Leo Club has been enlisted to be our advisor, and the officers had a meeting with him today... It's mostly a secret for now, but we'll let you nkow what we have planned soon, but I promise... You guys are in for a great year!

-Clubs Day is on Oct. 29, 2009 : We sell hamburgers, drinks, and possibly popcorn! Come support your club!

-Because of upcoming conflicting events such as SATs, PSATs, Homecoming etc. we're not doing a full event until Halloween [Oct. 31st] for the Mayfair Park Fair. Check back on this, and attend meetings to hear more information!

Hey Leos!

First meeting was today, and if you missed it due to club scheduling conflicts, you forgot, or for any other reason... here's what you missed.

Woody, our district advisor came in today in order to ask us to participate at the

Bellflower Car Show
Saturday, Sept. 19 2009
10:30 AM to 9:00 PM
[car show starts around 4, we're going early to set up.]
and meeting at the cross streets of Belmont St. & Bellflower Blvd.
[past the 91 freeway coming from Mayfair area]
to help with ticket sales, taco sales, set up, etc.

Directions from Mayfair High School
[from Google Maps.]

1. Head west on Woodruff Ave -- 49 ft
2. Turn right to stay on Woodruff Ave -- 0.7 mi
3. Turn left at Artesia Blvd -- 0.5 mi
4. Turn right at Bellflower Blvd -- 0.6 mi

**Note that Bellflower Blvd will be closed down for a duration of the day [from Alondra to Flora Vista], though we're unsure of what time that will be, above is a map of surrounding streets in order to take an alternate route.

We realize the length of this event, and would not mind if people were to come by for only part of the time as opposed to the whole 11 hours. We'll be around so ask for officer's contact information to find out exact whearabouts if ever. We'd love to have all the help we can. Otherwise, you can still show support by dropping by and buying from our food booth. All proceeds will go towards districting funding for us and our sister leo clubs of the area.

Other topics of business:
-We're looking for places to place our eyeglass donation boxes, if you know of any place or ideas, let us know in person or email us at mayfairleoclub@yahoo.com
-We're passing out official applications to the club next week & volunteer hours sheet, so don't miss it. Also remember the $5.00 dues to be paid to the accounting office.
-Leo Club shirts are on sale for $6.00, but we have a limited supply. Ask an officer [names are found on the right column] if you're interested.

&& Most importantly, we've lost a lot of our member due to the pioneers of the club graduating, invite your friends to join, especially underclassmen who'll serve to continue the club in the following years.
